UPDATE (7/19) – Thank you for sharing your work! The next opportunity to share will be August 1st – 3rd on a brand new post. I am leaving the comments section open on this post for anyone who would like to respond to comments already posted. Please check out the LIST compiled from the comments here! Thank you again 🙂
Twice a month I would like to have fellow authors share their WIP or their current works for sale. I invite everyone to post links to their personal websites, other social accounts, or advertise a link to BUY. Both traditional and indie authors are welcome to post. Use this space to BRAG about what you are working on – or what you have published! Be proud of your hard-work & not embarrassed to self-promote!
Wouldn’t it be great if we could all give up our day jobs (if you haven’t already) – and do what we were born to do? WRITE. Let’s help each other out.
- If you are a blogger/writer without a work for sale – still join in (advertise your blog)
- I will post links to various social platforms for readers to discover your work. I will also be a customer! If I see something of interest (and I am sure I will!) I will add you to my goodreads list & buy your book.
This post will occur on the first and fifteenth of every month.
Example:
Title. Genre. Targeted audience (if you have one) –Release date (if not out yet)
“Quote/tagline” – if you want
Website info. Subscribe to your website link.
Link to buy (if applicable)

*Feel free to include more than one work! And any other information you can think of.

Hi, Brittney,
Thanks for this space!
My mystery/suspense novels, KING OF THE ROSES and BLOOD LIES, previously published by St. Martin’s and Bantam, are now available at major ebook retailers (Amazon, Smashwords, Barnes and Nobles).
There are adult suspense about horses and horse racing, so if readers like mysteries and lots of action and just happen to also like to read about horses, they will enjoy these books!
KING OF THE ROSES
At the end of his stormy career, champion jockey Chris Englund has one last chance to win a record-setting sixth Kentucky Derby—until he’s offered $500,000 to throw the race. When he learns that defying the crooks and riding to win will ruin the horse and cost him the woman he loves, he finds that what his reputation demands isn’t what his conscience compels him to do.
“An impressive debut by a superb writer”–Publishers Weekly
“No racing novel since the advent of Dick Francis’s series of mysteries has captured my admiration like this book”–The Maryland Horse
“The description of [the race] itself is one of the most exciting whodunit chapters you’re ever likely to come across”–San Diego Tribune
BLOOD LIES
(originally published as a mass market paperback)
Young Ted Whysse comes home to his family’s fabulous Thoroughbred breeding farm to investigate his best friend’s death. He wants no part of his inheritance, no part of the farm’s greatest treasure, the magnificent stallion Kite. What he does want, although his heart knows better, is Lucky, his dying father’s beautiful young wife. When he learns that Lucky has a secret that will kill her, he must decide how many other lives he will risk to save her. Will he sacrifice his own?
“A real winner, this one”–Charles Champlin, Los Angeles Times

I think I’m too shy at this point to brag about my WIP 🙂 But what you are doing for other authors by using your space to promote is really great!
I understand, but you are welcome to at least advertise your favorite blog posts & website 🙂

That is brilliant. Marketing is one of the most horrible things about being self-published. It just feels awkward pimping out your own work. Thank you for doing this.
Totally understand 🙂

What an awesome opportunity! I have recently released my first novel, Secret Diary Of PorterGirl, which grew from my blog of the same name –
https://portergirl.wordpress.com/
Inspired by my time as the first female Deputy Head Porter at one of the most famous Oxbridge Colleges, Secret Diary Of PorterGirl is an intimate first hand account of the ups and downs of an outsider entering the archaic and esoteric world of the academic elite. Told with pathos and humour, this is an adventure quite unlike any other and featuring some of the most polite murders in British history! Follow the link to the blog to see the book trailer and buy the book.
Sounds very intriguing. Thanks so much for sharing!

My novel, Through the Fog, is in the making. I hope to have it finished and in your hands soon. It is a romantic suspense novel. I’m awaiting the book cover as we speak!
At the tender age of 12, Adalind Carter lost her mother to an un-diagnosed illness that eventually caused her father to commit suicide. She swore from that point on that she would devote her life to help saving others. Lately, she finds herself in a rut. Nothing excites her. She needs a job that will challenge her.
When asked to travel to England to take care of Evan Jacob Frederick, a Duke, whose been in a coma for 6 months from a horrible car accident, she was leery. Six months is a long time and could be disastrous on one’s mind and body. She finds him comatose and neglected with no nurses; no records of care before her arrival. He’s not what she expected…he’s gorgeous despite it all. But that’s not the worst part…he wasn’t alone that day of the accident.
He soon starts having nightmares that causes him horrible night sweats and headaches. His mind keeps trying to tell him that he should be remembering something. One he remembers, the other one he doesn’t. Adalind knows.
Sworn to secrecy, she keeps it from him in an effort to keep his physical therapy on track as requested by Evan’s footman. She’s falling for him, and he her. What does she do? Should she tell him and risk what they have? Or should she do what she was told, going against her gut, and keep this secret from him?
It all comes into motion when someone from Evan’s family shows up and things start spiraling out of control…and, he’s got a secret of his own that could. What is it? Adalind is determined to find out.

Loonies in the Dugout-based on true story of 1911 New York Giants is a satire on fame and celebrity with Chet Koski struggling to get playing time, struggling to woo his chorus girl girlfriend, and struggling to figure out his life.
Loonies in Hollywood is a mystery based on the true story of the murder of William Desmond Taylor, famous silent film director. Suspects are numerous as a Hollywood writer gets to the truth and the truth does not set him free.
Cemetery Tales and other Phantasms is a collection of Twilight Zone type horror short stories. Don’t go in there!

Hi Brittney:
Thanks so much for providing this platform for authors. First of all, I am a former Canadian newspaper and magazine writer/editor, now retired. Since 2000, I have published 10 books/ebooks but since my publisher moved on to other things, some are currently not available. I am working on making them all available eventually, as ebooks.

Thanks for sharing!
Thank you so much for sharing. I welcome more posts/comments.
I have tried to reply to everyone so far (before my son wakes from his nap!) – I will check back again tonight.
I am thinking that I would like to create another post (a follow-up) to categorize each author’s works by genre (and make it easier for readers) to find your work. I can also frequently share that post on various social media platforms.
I don’t want to include your work without permission though (if you LIKE this comment – I will take that as a GO AHEAD to add you to the organized list). I will give this post a few days for comments to come in before putting out the list.
Also – Do you think doing this twice a month is okay (even if just for author updates? / and to invite new authors who haven’t shared?) Or just once a month? Feedback is appreciated! THANKS!
Hi Brittney, this is so generous of you. The last book of my trilogy came out today – 16th July 2015. Living in the Shadows is an historical novel set in 1969: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Living-Shadows-Judith-Barrow/dp/1909983292. The first book, Pattern of Shadows: http://amzn.to/1f4CzRE takes place in 1944 and is set against the background of the first German POW camp in the UK. Fraternization was forbidden but it’s the main theme of the novel The sequel to this is Changing Patterns: http://amzn.to/1BQwi0b and follows the lives of the two main characters of the first book as they try to find new lives after the war. The last book, the one that was published today by Honno: http://www.honno.co.uk/ is the story of how the lives of the next generation has been affected by the actions of their parents and relatives. I like to think they are family sagas as well as historical.
I realise I’ve missed the fifteenth but just wondered if you’d still be interested. Anyway, I’d like to thank you in advance for reading my comments.

This is a great idea. May the selfpublishing cosmic forces send good karma your way.
I’d like to use my free plug to help you all get your own free plugs.
My blog, bookshelfbattle.com, features a regular Sunday column called “Ask the Alien.”
Ask Alien Jones a question and he’ll provide a witty response plus links to your books, blogs, author pages, whatever you’re working on.
Last Sunday, Alien Jones scored a major coup in getting a question from Justin Sloan, a writer for Telltale Games who’s worked on the Game of Thrones and Tales from the Borderlands video games.
Check it out here:
http://bookshelfbattle.com/2015/07/12/ask-the-alien-71215-special-guest-justin-sloan/
And here’s more info on what the Ask the Alien column is all about and how to participate:
http://bookshelfbattle.com/2015/07/15/alien-jones-on-a-hot-streak/
It’s fun, it’s free publicity and the best part is there’s nothing to worry about. If you don’t like Alien Jones’ discussion of your work, he’ll take it down, no problem. That hasn’t been a problem yet as every author who’s participated so far has gotten a real kick out of it and they end up sharing with their own readers.
Thanks again for this chance to share.
Oh wow!! Sounds awesome. Thank you so much for sharing that!!

Thanks for the voucher! Just for fun, I just tweeted every author who’s consulted Alien Jones so far and there’s been 16, or 17 if you count the column coming this Sunday.
I also share these on my Google Plus Page.
Thank you!
My contemporary spicy romance is Luke & Bella: Two Streets Over. It’s for 18+ and it’s been out on Amazon since early June.
Here’s from the opening: “The beginning…
She was excited. And nervous. Which she felt more she couldn’t say.
Anything to get out of Akron. Not really. Not just anything. The most amazing opportunity she’d had.
Is this really happening? Or will I wake up and realize it was only a dream?”
It was originally posted chapter by chapter on my blog Luke & Bella (https://lukeandbella.wordpress.com/). Now that it’s published, I’ve taken down the chapters and I’ve begun posting chapters of my new project, Rannigan’s Redemption.
Here’s the link to buy Luke & Bella: Two Streets Over. http://www.amazon.com/Luke-Bella-Two-Streets-Over-ebook/dp/B00Z82DXTA/ref=sr_1_1?s=digital-text&ie=UTF8&qid=1436987611&sr=1-1&keywords=luke+%26+Bella+two+streets+over

I’m sharing information about The Madness Engine, a science fiction novel by Paul B. Spence (my twin, in case anyone wonders why I’m posting about someone else’s book).
“The war between the Sentient Concord and the Earth Federation grinds on, but dark forces are moving behind the scenes, forces intent on unleashing terror on a scale never seen before, a terror that has already spread beyond Commander Hrothgar Tebrey’s universe. On an alternate Earth, acid rains fall smoking from the steely skies, and feral things that were once human skitter through the ruins. Tebrey’s father Daeren Drake searches for clues about the enemy and finds more than he bargained for. Meanwhile, Lt. Commander Tonya Harris and Ghost stumble upon an engine, a weapon that must never be used, but already has been… by the enemy. Loyalties will be tested, dark pasts revealed, and the enemy will strike a blow at the heart of the Concord from which it may never recover.”

Thanks Britney, this is a brilliant way to bring people together and find more stuff to read. I’m terrible at bragging, or at least on cue bragging, but here goes.
I recently put out my first novel, Irons in the Fire (Chronicles of Talis I), a steampunk fantasy filled with mystery, murder, magic, and revolution. Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell meets Game of Thrones.
In the City of Talis humans and faëries live together in uneasy peace. Until an explosion rocks the city and long smoldering tensions threaten to ignite…

Wow. So glad to hear you are OK – and will definitely check out your book. Thank you for sharing. Can I add you to the list I am creating to help promote fellow authors?
That would be wonderful!
Brittany: Could you tell me how to submit my information? I was unclear if it was to be put into the comments section or if there is a way to send my books and links to you on or off of the page for posting.
You can post here in comments & then I will add your book to a genre list for readers to access your books.
This is a great idea and very generous of you. I will definitely be taking part in the next one on August 1 🙂
You are wonderful to do this and help other authors out! My blog is https://augustmacgregor.wordpress.com/, and links to my books (erotic romance) can be found there.
Thank you. I will add your books to the genre list I am posting soon for readers to access!

Hi Brittney, thank you so much for this opportunity. I currently have two books on sale, The Slapstyx and Gateway to Magic, both for children age 7+
The Slapstyx features astral-travelling twins who must break up a putrid pact between a dastardly detergent manufacturer and some gruesomely grubby goblins. Zachary Zigstack’s disgusting detergent is poisoning the sea, but his goblin accomplices are helping him make it a world bestseller. Can twin sisters Georgie and Gem use their magical skills to stop these dirty dealings before all the sea creatures are destroyed?
The Slapstyx is available on Amazon at http://myBook.to/Slapstyx and Smashwords at http://bit.ly/1FQ3gnr
Gateway to Magic is the story of Steven Topcliff, a gaming fanatic trapped in Fairyland where all technology is banned by law. Steven hates Fairyland – there are no video games, no chicken nuggets and no one tells the truth. He has to deal with spiteful cousin Tracy, who goads him into triggering the interdimensional gateway, Nigel the Nuisance, an out-of-control shapeshifter who insists on being his best mate, and the diva-like Fairy Queen who embroils him in some mysterious game of her own. Steven’s only chance of escape is to use magic to forge a gateway back to Earth.

Thanks for this wonderful opportunity, Brittney! I am sharing the link to my Amazon author page. I write historical romance and romantic suspense. http://www.amazon.com/Amber-Dane/e/B007MXU7VU/ref=sr_ntt_srch_lnk_1?qid=1437070563&sr=8-1
My two faves – will add you to the author list for readers to discover – out tomorrow!
I will make this short and sweet. 🙂 I am an author who tells true stories in a creative and entertaining way. I am currently finishing up the fourth book of a series about a Texas musician and the many twists and turns his life took, including a fifteen year stay in Leavenworth prison. Because the stories all evolve and revolve around music, I also release a music CD of original songs with each book that matches the time period of the book. They can all be seen on my website at:
http://www.jansikes.com
Amazon http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_2?url=search-alias%3Dstripbooks&field-keywords=Jan+Sikes
The Texas Association of Authors http://books.txauthors.com/category-s/2041.htm, Goodreadshttps://www.goodreads.com/author/show/7095856.Jan_Sikes
and various other places, but all can be accessed from my website. You have my full permission to list my books and links anywhere you’d like!
Oh– Love the idea of the CD- that is great! I will add you to my list of authors I am posting tomorrow. THANK YOU!
I’m not very good at bragging, but here is what I have:
My name is Christopher Slater and I am the author of PUP: A novel of Accidental Heroism. The novel won the Authors First Novel Writing competition and was published in June by The Story Plant. It is available on Amazon, iBooks, Barnes & Noble, and directly from The Story Plant.
Pup follows the story of Pup, a young man with a high IQ, but little common sense. The socially awkward young man is drafted into the army and sent overseas. The story, as told by Pup himself, chronicles his time overseas and how he survives not only combat, but the equal challenge of interacting with the members of his squad. Reminiscent of the classic series MASH, Pup will make you laugh, think, and maybe even cry.
You can read more about Pup and find links to places it can be purchased at:

Check it all out and let me know what you think!
Thanks for sharing – I will add your work to the list and update the post soon!
What genre would you prefer for Pup?
Tough question. It usually goes under fiction/literature or satire. I think Amazon even has it under Dark Humor as one of its categories.
Thanks!
Hey Brittney!
My name is R. Ann Greene. I am a newly published, indie author.
The title of my first book is, The Stones of Caron, What Time Handed Them. It is officially YA, but I have found a lot of people of all ages enjoy that level. It is a fantasy, action-adventure, epic.
I know you like romance and maybe I can oblige you in the future, but this one is mostly action and adventure.
I also blog short stories (pertaining to my books and independent both) and my own adventures as a volunteer firefighter.

Thank you for sharing! Would you like your work under YA? I don’t have any for that genre yet 🙂 I will def look into your work. I read everything- including YA – esp if action!

“BELIEVING IN HORSES, TOO”
Sadie worries about her father serving in Afghanistan. She believes her love for horses will help distract her, but instead she faces new challenges. Will Sadie find courage in her thirteenth year and become the person she wants to be?
