this is so hilarious and great – wow – I miss my English classes and my teachers.
In my writers’ group once the tutor asked what underlying meaning the poet intended in her description of the sun shining on oil in a puddle. No one was keen to say anything so she gave her own interpretation before asking the poet to confirm if it was correct. The poet shook her head. “It’s a description of the sun shining on oil in a puddle – nothing more,” she said.
