Source: Amazon Turbocharges Book Marketing – but at what Price
Much of this is way out of my league, price wise, I’m afraid.
I was unaware of any of this until I read the post this morning…
Absolutely outrageous, Brittney. The problem is that they’re all doing this kind of stuff now. $3000 for a Goodreads campaign, $600 to beef up your Amazon page, $1500 to reach reviewers. I thought they didn’t like the idea of paid reviews. The fact that it’s Amazon and not the reviewer who’s being paid seems not to matter to them. Very annoying.
It is sooo confusing … they removed reviews from my books from book bloggers – because the reviewers had Amazon affiliate links on their blogs. It is a lot of work finding reviewers (for free) then they remove those reviews .. and now this…?? hmm
I don’t see why having an affiliate link should matter. In fact, I don’t understand the whole thing. Don’t they want to sell books? If that’s the case, why are they making it so difficult?
? All very confusing …
I fell out with amazon a long time ago. My book is not on Amazon site, and I’m actively seeking alternative ways to sell and promoting it. I might be naive, but I do think there are alternative to Amazon.
Thanks for sharing this.
Are you on Apple or Nook?
I’m on both 🙂
